SPJ creates institutional memberships

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. — The board of directors of the Society of Professional Journalists today approved a few changes to the organization. It will begin offering institutional memberships to newsrooms. These are distinct from individual memberships, but will allow individuals from those newsrooms to join SPJ at a discount. Newsrooms can join at three levels — $250, $750 and $1,250 annually – and each will come with some benefits. Additional details will be rolled out from the national organization.

SPJ will also more aggressively seek out members internationally.
